Introducing Look Good Feel Great Nutrition: A New Chapter Begins
Late on January 4th I hit "publish" on my website and felt a quiet wave of relief.
Three weeks. Roughly 100 hours. One self-imposed deadline that I somehow managed to meet.
Look Good Feel Great Nutrition was officially live.
When Your Body Tells You to Pivot
I’ve loved my work as a Sports Therapist for over 20 years - running my own practice, helping people recover from injury, move better, and feel stronger. It’s incredibly rewarding work.
But a broken left elbow and tendinitis in my right thumb were humbling reminders that physically demanding work has a shelf life. For the first time, I had to seriously ask myself: What happens next?
What could I do that would still feel meaningful, still allow me to help people but be sustainable long term?
The answer kept appearing in my treatment room: nutrition. It was already part of many conversations with clients. It complemented my sports therapy work naturally and allowed me to continue doing what I value most - helping people.
Building Something New
After choosing the Level 5 Nutritional Adviser Diploma through Active Health Group, I spent eighteen months in online training, group webinars, and written assignments. When I received my Diploma in September 2025, the real work began.
I needed to figure out how I wanted to set up and grow my nutrition business.
Fortunately, I had built something invaluable over 20 years: relationships. A client who works as a Business Development Manager offered to help me shape my business model – one hour with her gave me the clarity I desperately needed. Then a coach at Claydon CrossFit, where I train, went through his entire nutrition business setup with me when he heard what I was planning.
The To-Do List
With their guidance, I tackled the fundamentals:
- Decide on a company name
- Set up the limited company
- Create the brand design including a logo
- Decide on pricing and packages to offer
- Create a website
- Set up social media pages
Choosing the name was the easy part. Look Good Feel Great Nutrition felt right immediately. I checked availability, registered the limited company, and that was that.
Creating the logo introduced me to something completely new: AI design tools. The person who designed and manages my sports therapy website suggested it, and honestly, I was sceptical. But after a few hours of experimenting and gathering feedback from trusted friends, I had a logo I was genuinely proud of.
Pricing was the difficult one. This felt like the cornerstone of everything. Too high and I'd scare people off. Too low and I'd undervalue my service. I researched competitors, consulted AI, and ran my ideas past people I trusted before settling on my packages.
Then came the website.
100 Hours in Three Weeks
I'd never built a website before. The thought of it was genuinely daunting.
But I gave myself a deadline: January 5th. Then I got started. My sports therapy website designer helped me with the basics, and then I just kept going. Late nights. Early mornings. Learning Google Forms for client questionnaires. Figuring out JotForm for contact forms. Tweaking layouts. Rewriting copy.
On January 3rd, my website designer returned to finalise the technical details and get everything ready to publish.
When the site went live on the evening of January 4th it was a relief to see everything finally come together.
I shared the news on my personal Facebook and Instagram pages and just like that Look Good Feel Great Nutrition was no longer just an idea - it was real. And it means I can now support people not just in recovering from injury, but in improving their energy, confidence, and long-term health through better nutrition.
The Scary Part: Putting Myself Out There
Twenty-five years ago when I set up my sports therapy business social media didn't exist. Now it's almost impossible to launch a business without it.
I know referrals and testimonials will likely be my primary lead generators, but social media is still an essential part of the marketing package. And I'll be honest: this is the part that pushes me out of my comfort zone.
I've never been a big social media user, and the idea of "putting myself out there" feels uncomfortable. Creating content. Posting regularly. Being visible. I know it's necessary but that doesn't make it any less daunting.
I've set up business pages for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The next few weeks will be focused on creating content and building an online presence, which will be the topic of my next blog.
I've also had business cards printed and designed an advert for local gyms and other suitable businesses. Every little bit helps spread the word.
What Comes Next?
From a vague idea to a fully launched business, Look Good Feel Great Nutrition is now out in the world. I'm excited, nervous, and genuinely curious to see where this journey leads and how many people I can help along the way.
The hours have been long and the learning curve steep, but I’ve loved building something new. I've learned so much, tackled tasks I'd never attempted before, and gained skills I didn't know I needed.
Most importantly, I've been reminded that no one builds something like this alone. The friends and sports therapy clients who have shared their time, knowledge and encouragement have made all the difference and I'm incredibly grateful.
If you’re thinking about improving your nutrition in 2026 whether your goal is more energy, improved performance, or simply feeling more confident in yourself I’d love to support you.
